The Reviewing Is the Problem

With real event OCD, the event itself isn't what keeps you stuck. It's the compulsive response to it β€” the mental reviewing, the reassurance-seeking, the confessing.

Every time you perform those behaviors, you're sending your brain the message: this is a real threat that needs to be solved. Your brain responds by making the doubt louder, not quieter.
